After collecting a long list of bookmarks i found barry leger's web site featuring his december 2000 sky & telescope article "a simple truss-tube dobsonian". the article provided cutting diagrams and a good description of the project.. I toyed with the idea of building a truss tube scope but decided that for my first attempt, i would go with the classic dob design as there is a ton of information available on building these. my design is largely based on the 10" plan detailed in making your own telescope by richard berry.. Sooner or later reality took hold again and i thought that the truss tube idea could be applied to the primary and secondary mirrors i already had in my possession, namely a 150mm (6 inch) primary and a matched secondary mirror. i eventually discovered david kriege�s book about how to build the open truss type telescope..
